About the holiday home

Spacious, well-equipped house with a lovely inviting pool and proximity to both swimming lake and all services in Floda. Here you live in a beautiful rural environment and at the same time are close to the big city Gothenburg's entertainment and shopping. The whole family is guaranteed to enjoy themselves here!

Welcome to a unique log house on two levels that is built in recycled material on a lovely plot in a rural environment just outside Floda center. Here you can soak up the sun and take a dip in the 22 m2 large pool (2.6 x 6 m) which holds 27 degrees comfortable heat and is 1.4 m deep. The pool deck has both comfortable sun loungers and a sofa group where you can relax and enjoy your holiday. Adjacent to the pool there is a charming conservatory where you can have dinner together or take an afternoon nap in the daybed. Also a perfect place for the children / young people to retreat when they want to be at peace.

The villa's entrance floor has an open floor plan with nice visible beams. It houses a beautiful modern kitchen, dining area and living area with TV corner (Apple TV). Two bedrooms, one of which has a modern sofa bed and the other a double bed, there is also a guest toilet. Downstairs with separate entrance from the outside, (perfect if you are two couples or have young people who want to be raw about themselves) there is another larger room with sleeping alcove with double bed and living room with sofas and TV. No door between the bedroom and the living room. The lower floor also houses a bathroom with shower and sauna as well as a laundry room.

Only 2 km to two nice bathing places by the lake Sävelången. Drängeredsbadet has a nice sandy beach and jetty. The villa's plot borders the Nature Reserve so you have the fantastic walking area right outside the door. The hiking trail Gotaleden, which is a total of 71 km and runs between Gothenburg and Alingsås, also passes your holiday home. Maybe you want to hike some stages? You are close to several shops, both meat and fish shop are available if you want to cook the food yourself. If you want to skip cooking some evening, Floda has three really good restaurants, two of which are in the White Guide.

If you want to get to the entertainment city of Gothenburg, you can do it easily in about 30 minutes. Choose if you want to take a car, train or bus. On a separate part of the plot there is a small house that is rented out by the owner to a quiet tenant. The villa is located about 200 m from the railway tracks, where some freight trains can be heard during the day if you are out.

The house has alarm cameras, which are covered during the rental period.

Sweden is water, water and water

Sweden has been admitted to UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline. Middle and north of Sweden have countless rivers, lakes and streams criss-crossing the country. Sometimes you get the feeling that the country is swimming with only forests and fields acting as links between rivers and lakes. This is particular noticeable for the middle part of Sweden where the ice age left plain tracks. Thousands of lakes fill the gorges created when the ice retracted to the North.

At the exact place where the river Mälaren with fresh water meets the salt water from the Baltic you will find Stockholm spread across 14 islands and islets. But there is more: The Stockholm skerries just a few minutes sailing from the capital is comprised by a total of 24.000 islands and islets.

The Siljan lake is located in the middle part of Sweden called Dalarna. The lake and the surrounding towns are regarded as the historical centre of the country. From here, Sweden gradually becomes more raw and deserted. In Norrland, the only sound you hear in the enormous forests is from the roaring rivers.

For centuries, the rivers have been used for transporting logs to the coast. And where the rivers flow into the ocean is where the first settlements were founded several thousands of years ago. Höga Kusten in the north-eastern Sweden is permitted on UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline.

Midsummer in Sweden

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
