Voucher/rental agreement and driving directions

Shortly after having booked your holiday home through DanCenter, you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation is your voucher/rental agreement with all necessary information. On the first page you will find information about the addresses of the holiday home and the key collection place. In the middle of the page you will find the driving directions. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable card for ordering extras that may be useful during your holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice concerning your booking as well as an in-payment form stating due date.

On arrival at the key collection place you must present your voucher, and you will receive your key for the holiday home and a utility sheet/envelope where to state the meter readings for the consumption related costs, such as electricity, water etc., at arrival as well as at departure.

Time of arrival

Arrival can normally take place from 4 p.m. on the arrival day.

Arrival outside opening hours

If you arrive in the late evening, our local offices will be closed. In such cases please call us in advance to make arrangements as to key collection and payment of deposit.

Extras

On the detachable card at bottom of the voucher/rental agreement you can order various extras offered by our local offices. In this way you can avoid packing your car with a lot of unhandy things. Please notice that local offices in Germany are only placed in areas with a high concentration of holiday homes. In all other areas the key will be handed over by the owner of the house or his substitute.

All holiday homes are equipped with the tableware and kitchen utensils necessary for the number of persons for which the house is meant. You can order bed linen, tea towels, table cloths etc. from the DanCenter local office – if there is one – if you do not want to bring all this yourself.

If you have small children and need a cot, high chair or the like, you can rent such items at the local office too. There is not necessarily room for a cot in the master bedroom. If a cot is listed in the description of the house, and you only need one cot, you do not need to mark it on the detachable card.

Please notice that not all local offices offer all kind of extras. We therefore always recommend you to send an e-mail to or to call the local DanCenter office before arrival. We cannot guarantee that all the extras you may need will be available, if they have not been ordered in advance.

Ferry connections

If you have booked a holiday home in Germany, you may need to book a ferry. A good advice is to do this well in advance. For information about ferry connections, please click here.

The Road Directorate

During the holiday season you will often end up in a queue on the most popular motorways and roads.

Local tax

All local governments in Germany collect a local tourist tax from holiday home owners, among others. This tax is calculated per guest per day and must be paid on site before departure. The amount varies from area to area.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.
