About Fjellerup Strand

Fjellerup on the northern part of Djursland is plentiful in nature and beautiful scenery. Here you can enjoy the large forests, river valleys, open terrain and naturally the unique and varying stretch of coast. The area provides plenty of activities e.g. mountain bike rides, bike rides, tracks and countless hike trails. Here you will find wide sandy beaches towards Kattegat with large dunes and tall chalk cliffs where you can find fossils. You can cross Randers Fjord several places on small, cosy ferries, etc. at Mellerup-Voer and Udbyhøj.

To the east you will find the old market town Grenaa. Take a walk through the cosy pedestrian streets. Here you will also find Kattegatcentret, one of the largest aquariums in Denmark with a shark area i.a. From Grenaa you can take the ferry to Anholt. In Ebeltoft you can take walks or do a little shopping in the scenic cobble stoned streets. Here you will also find several glassworks as well as the museum Glasmuseet. You can also visit the old Danish frigate, Fregatten Jylland, and experience the atmosphere and the canons and smell the tar in the museum.

In Randers, at the bottom of Randers Fjord, you will find various cultural experiences, e.g. Randers Kunstmuseum. The largest attraction of Randers is Randers Regnskov, the largest artificial rainforest in northern Europe. Take a trip to Graceland Randers, an accurate copy of Elvis Presleys' Graceland in USA. Or experience the large natural areas with an amazing bird life in Gudenå-dalen (valley), just outside Randers.

Remember to take a trip to Aarhus, the largest town in Jutland, which has good shopping and many museums.

About Norddjursland

In the northern part of Djursland there is a great and beautiful nature. Enjoy the big forest areas, river valleys, open landscapes and the many, fantastic coastal areas. The biggest town in the region is Randers – a place of fine shopping possibilities, art, culture and attractions for all the family.

In this unique area there are various types of coasts: the wide sandy beaches to the Kattegat side with high dunes and chalk cliffs where to find fossils, the beach meadows with fabulous flora and the beautiful freshwater fiords, for instance Randers Fiord. This fiord is the mouth of the Gudenå into Kattegat, a paradise for anglers. At various places you can go by a small, charming ferry from coast to coast, this for instance at Mellerup Voer and Udbyhøj.

In Randers, situated in the bottom of Randers Fiord, you can go for art experiences and cultural activities, for instance at the art museum of Randers, which has one the biggest collection of Danish visual arts. The most famous attraction is Randers Regnskov (rain forest), the biggest artificial rain forest in North Europe. You may also visit Graceland, Randers, a true copy of Elvis’s Graceland, USA. In the eastern part of North Djursland is Grenaa, the old market town, a former centre of commerce for this part of Djursland. Take a stroll in the small and charming pedestrian streets of the town or enjoy the wonderful beaches on both sides of the town. From Grenaa you can take the ferry to Anholt (island).
