About the holiday home

Welcome to this fantastic cabin built in 2023, set in a magical environment on Väddö in Norrtälje, just a stone's throw from the sea. The property features a wood-fired hot tub, sauna, and beautiful views of the sea in multiple directions! Open social spaces with generous ceiling height and a cozy sleeping loft. Large windows that resemble a painting, creating a peaceful harmony between the indoors and outdoors. Start your day with a dip from the cliffs into the sea, or why not a warm bath in the hot tub or sauna to the sound of nature. This is a place designed for relaxation and for those who seek something extra special!

You are welcomed by a beautiful cabin on a hill with a generous wooden deck offering various "rooms" and breathtaking views of the archipelago. Inside, the kitchen, dining area, and living room come together in an open space with stunning views of the sea and untouched nature. The small kitchen allows you to cook while gazing out at the sea, equipped with two induction hobs, a combined oven/microwave, coffee maker, and other essentials. The kitchen opens up to the living area and dining table. Here, you can listen to music via Sonos AirPlay. Further in, you'll find a comfortable bedroom with a double bed for two (140 cm wide) and a smart TV. The bedroom has its own door leading directly to the wood-fired hot tub, which also features a bubble function. On the ground floor, there's a stylish bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. There are two additional sleeping spaces in the cozy loft, which you reach via a ladder. The ladder is somewhat steep and lacks a handrail, so please be careful. The loft has limited headroom but is very comfortable for sleeping.

A large terrace surrounds the entire house, complete with a lounge area where you can watch the sunset, a dining table for enjoyable dinners, a charcoal grill, and sun loungers by the hot tub and sauna. The sauna is accessible from the outside next to the hot tub, and both the hot tub and sauna are wood-fired. There's also an outdoor shower with hot water for those who want to enjoy a refreshing shower in the open air while listening to the birdsong!

Good to know! The owner has a summer house next to the cabin and is occasionally there, but most of your outdoor space is secluded with views of the sea. The owner also has a charging station for electric cars via Wallbox, which you can use, but you will need to pay for the actual consumption on-site. There is also a basketball court that you pass when driving to the house, and you're welcome to use it!

Just a stone's throw away, you can enjoy a secluded swim in the sea from the cliffs, where you can also fish. If you prefer a sandy beach, Sandvikens camping is about 1 km away. There is much to explore on Väddö—take a trip to Gamla Grisslehamn or Gåsvik for fine design from Edblad, have a coffee at Kröns Trädgård, or enjoy a delicious meal at Ankaret or Bonden och Burgaren. The list goes on—welcome to Roslagen and the Stockholm Archipelago!

Sweden has been admitted to UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline. Middle and north of Sweden have countless rivers, lakes and streams criss-crossing the country. This is particular noticeable for the middle part of Sweden where the ice age left plain tracks. Thousands of lakes fill the gorges created when the ice retracted to the North.

Midsummer in Sweden

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
