About the holiday home

This house is located on a large leafy plot on a quiet street in the cottage area Orrhammaren. The area is a large peninsula that juts out into Lake Orrhammaren and you have several lovely bathing spots a short walk from the house.

The house has two large terraces, one at the back and one at the front, which guarantees many hours of sun or shade depending on what you are looking for. The plot does not have a fence but there are gates that allow you to close around the terrace. You enter the hall where the kitchen is located with an open floor plan with a dining area where you have a glimpse of the sea from the window. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher and the freezer is in one of the smaller bedrooms. A living room with a lovely sofa that also serves as an extra bed, TV with large selection and access to the terrace at the back with plenty of seating for the whole family.

The double bedroom has access to the terrace to the rear. The other two bedrooms have a single bed and an extra bed, you can decide your self where to put the extra bed. The bathroom is equipped with shower, wc and sink as well as a washing machine, the laundry is preferably dried out on the washing line.

For sporty people, there is a tennis court that belongs to the area and it is free to use it, you go there in about 10 minutes from the house. If you are interested in going hiking, it is easy to connect on one of the stages in the Sörmlandsleden that passes through Orrhammaren's cottage area. If you bring bicycles on your holiday, there are excellent roads around Orrhammaren that invites to long bike rides.

In the immediate area there is much to discover with both peaceful nature and attractions in the form of castles and farms. The proximity to Flen means that you can easily buy food and other things that you may need for lazy, beautiful days. Approximately 10 minutes' walk from the cottage, by the large pool, you will find a place to play "boule" and a tennis court. There is free fishing in the lake!

Cleaning is included in the rent, but you are responsible for dishes and rubbish.
It is important that you follow the specified check-out time, which is 10:00 on the day of departure.

About Södermanland

Södermanland consists of a beautiful archipelago, vigorous forests, large lakes, lively small towns and idyllic villages.

Here there are narrow roads with pretty wooden houses and green gardens with nice atmosphere which is peaceful for the soul. You will find a lot of soft forests paths, glittering water and wonderful archipelagos. Furthermore the landscape is characterized by castles, manors, hills and twisting small roads. The author, Selma Lagerlöf, often described Södermanland with the words “den sköna lustgården” i.e. the beautiful pleasure garden.

There are about 400 castles and manors in Södermanland, and many of them are open to the public.

For instance you could visit the famous Gripsholm Castle in Mariefred or the prime minister’s holiday home, Harpsund, where you can go for a walk in the beautiful garden.

Sweden has been admitted to UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline. Middle and north of Sweden have countless rivers, lakes and streams criss-crossing the country. This is particular noticeable for the middle part of Sweden where the ice age left plain tracks. Thousands of lakes fill the gorges created when the ice retracted to the North.

Midsummer in Sweden

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
