Welcome to Österlen and to a unique and charming accommodation in the old part of Kivik with a short walk to the sea, restaurants and bakery. The house dates back to being a fishing shed from the early 1900s and has preserved furnishings from this time. Here you can enjoy the sea, the beaches and Österlen's fantastic surroundings.

Here you live in a pleasant and well-planned cottage with room for up to 5 people. On the upstairs cozy loft there is a double bed and three single beds, and from the loft you can enjoy a view of the sea - a perfect start to the day. On the entrance floor you are greeted by a living room with TV and direct access to a small, fenced garden. Here you can relax in peace and quiet, light the grill and enjoy meals at the outdoor furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and has a dining table with seating - ideal for both breakfast and dinners together. The bathroom is fresh and practical with toilet and shower.

This is a perfect accommodation for the family or small group looking for a quiet, homely place close to nature and the sea. A little gem where you can relax and just be. Hiking in Brösarpsbackar and along the Verkeån is recommended as well as visits to farm sheds and artisans. The area is also known for its fruit orchards and has popular events such as a harvest market in the autumn and a well-attended art tour in the spring.

Österlen lyser (Österlen shines) is a festival of light that usually takes place in late in October or early November, when the villages of Österlen are illuminated by torchlight processions, light installations, and illuminated buildings. There are many activities to choose from, you can discover Österlen on foot on exciting trails, by bike or from horseback. Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
