Hässleholm in northern Skåne has long been an important railway junction and popular meeting place. It is easy to get here from both the continent and Copenhagen and Stockholm.

Here you can experience varied nature and a wide range of cultural and outdoor activities. On the slopes above Lake Finja stands the largest architect-designed tree house in the Nordic region, perched on slender steel pillars. The tree house is located on a forest slope in the Hovdala nature reserve, near Hovdala Castle. The area offers various trails for those who want to hike, ride horses, or cycle. Come and discover the wonderful environment. A few kilometers outside Hässleholm, you can go underground and discover the magical world of Tykarpsgrottan, 12 meters below ground. Here you can take guided tours through the fairytale labyrinths and pillar halls. The mine has been the filming location for several movies, including Astrid Lindgren's beloved Ronja the Robber's Daughter. Every December, a popular Christmas market is held here.

The forests around Hässleholm offer a rich variety of wildlife and birds, as well as many rare plants. The area is a real mosaic landscape and is, for example, one of Sweden's most species-rich bat areas. In the summer, you can join a bat safari, a truly unique and fun experience at dusk and in the dark. The popular tourist destination Hovdala Castle is the pride of the area.
