About the holiday home

Welcome to Ellös at Orust in Bohuslän with both golf, restaurant, sea and salty baths just nearby.

Here you live a tastefully decorated barn from the beginning of the 20th century with generous surfaces and high ceilings. The entrance faces the farm's common large lawn with a few single neighbors who live all year round. A large and lovely kitchen with large dining area centrally located and high chair. To the right is a bedroom with two single beds that are each 80cm. Living room with sofa and armchairs with access to both the front and to the private balcony with outdoor furniture. Inside the living room there is a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.

Via a steeper staircase you reach a large and lovely loft with two sofas and armchairs and a lovely view via large windows out over the courtyard. Upstairs there are three more beds in the alcove next to the living room. Two of the beds are 110cm and the third 80cm. Small children are not recommended as the stairs are steep and there is no gate. There is a common laundry room for everyone who lives on the farm to use.

On the outside there is outdoor furniture and barbecue. You will enjoy yourself fantastically well in this cottage which feels a bit like the present but in the old style.

If you want to explore the area around Ellös, you must not miss a dip at the bathing area inside Ellös center. There is a bath for children, adults and is handicapped accessible with a wheelchair accessible. Shallow water and further out there are jumping towers and cliffs. When you have finished bathing, there is a playground right next door and when the children are hungry for ice cream, an ice cream kiosk 100 meters away. In the evening there are several different restaurants and if you are craving seafood, there are factory sales in the harbor.

Feel free to visit the unique islands Käringön and Gullholmen via ferry from Tuvesvik, 7 km. Do not miss a trip to Malö and Flatön via free car ferry. Here are i.a. famous Handelsman Flink with restaurant & café. A few km south is Hälleviksstrand with cozy Mias Sjöbodscafé and seal safari and Mollösund, a fishing village from the 16th century with several restaurants and cafes. Nösund with Nösunds Värdshus (spa and restaurant) is also worth a visit.

Midsummer in Sweden

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
