Welcome to this archipelago house located in a sunny and peaceful area. Perfect location for a small family who wants to stay close to the sea and the center of Bohus Malmön. It is within walking distance to fantastic beaches, restaurants, pizzeria, grocery store, fish and delicatessen shop, mini golf, tennis, marina, bike and kayak rental, and outdoor gym. Bohus-Malmön is an island in Bohuslän with a genuine archipelago idyll that has a varied environment with interesting history and beautiful views. The island is particularly known for its stonemasonry, but also for its hiking trails and beautiful bathing spots. There is a wonderful tranquility and charming atmosphere here, close to all the island's various attractions, such as Stallebrottet, an old quarry on Malmön. A new purpose has been created for the quarry after finding the perfect location for a natural theater. During the summer, several performances are organized.

From the cottage parking area, a staircase leads to the cottage's patio area and entrance. Once inside, you are greeted by a cozy and comfortable open floor plan. On the lower floor, there is a well-equipped open kitchen with dining furniture, stove, separate oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, and dishwasher, a living room with a cozy fireplace and a comfortable sofa group, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, and a bathroom with a shower and washing machine. From the kitchen, you can access the large, lovely patio area with several different combinations of summer furniture, a truly beautiful open space for everyone to socialize and, for example, enjoy the delicacies of the sea on lovely summer evenings, such as fresh shrimp, crayfish, or a well-filled crab. From the hall, a staircase leads up to the second floor with a living room with TV, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed, and a toilet. From the TV room, you can access the cottage's balcony with summer furniture, where you have an unobstructed view of nature and the surrounding buildings.

On Sotenäset and in the surrounding area, there are several fishing and stonemason communities with additional bathing spots, as well as coastal paths and roads with views of the Bohuslän archipelago. Kungshamn and neighboring Smögen also offer the opportunity to rent kayaks or boats so you can explore the beautiful archipelago on your own. If you want to take a look below the surface of the sea, there are diving opportunities both from land and boat. From Kungshamn, you can take a taxi boat and visit the Hållö lighthouse or go to Smögen and continue to experience archipelago life and the archipelago environment on the now world-famous pier with its bustling crowds, shops, restaurants, and a variety of different boats. A nice choice for a day trip is a visit to Nordens Ark, a zoo where you can meet around 80 of the world's endangered animals. There, in beautiful natural surroundings, you will have the opportunity to meet animals such as wolves and snow leopards, or come face to face with the world's largest cat, the Amur tiger. Väjern is also home to Tumlaren, Sotenäs municipality's swimming and wellness facility with a gym, wellness center, and indoor pool.

Bohus-Malmön, the Island of Granite!

Bohus-Malmön is a place where Bohuslän shows its most beautiful side. Here, you will encounter the legendary reddish-pink granite, sparkling bays, and a sea that shifts between calm silver and powerful blue. The island is made to be explored—on foot, by bike, or from a kayak gliding along dramatic cliff walls. The island has been inhabited since as early as the 16th century and is one of Bohuslän’s oldest fishing villages.

Wander through the historic quarry and follow the traces of the proud stonemason heritage, or find one of the many sun-warmed swimming coves where the cliffs form natural sun loungers. There is something for everyone, from sandy beaches to rocky baths. The beaches Pärlane and Kattesand are among the most popular. In the evening, the sun sets behind the horizon in a spectacular display of colors that has made the island famous.

The island was historically one of the most important places for Bohus granite. Loads of processed stone were shipped all over the world. Quarrying ceased in the 1970s, but the quarries and several stone artifacts can still be seen across the island. Especially on the west side of the island, the old quarries are visible.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
