About the holiday home

Holiday cottage with a great view of the beautiful fjord landscape located near the village of Årfor. The fjord Indre Folda is rich in fish and invites you to exciting fishing trips by boat.

The cabin, which is located 50 m from the fjord, was built in 1982 and restored in 2017. Two terraces, one with a roof, and one with a small gap hut/superstructure with a charcoal grill. There is a balcony between the terraces facing the fjord, where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful fjord landscape. 3 bedrooms which sleeps 6; 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 with a bed that can be used as a single or double bed and 1 with a bunk bed. There is also a sofa bed in the living room and an extra bed which gives a total of 3 extra beds. ood-burning stove in the living room. The cabin is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and kettle, toaster, TV with international channels, internet and washing machine.

The fjord Indre Folda is very rich in fish. In addition to normal sea fishing, you can also catch salmon and sea trout on the hook. Here you can stand with a rod directly below the cabin and fish in the fjord, or from the 14-foot boat with a 6 hp engine that can be rented. The boat is moored in free mooring without a floating jetty, 50 m from the cabin. In Oppløelva, 45 km from the cabin, you can fish for salmon against the purchase of a fishing licence.

The immediate area and surrounding areas offer many opportunities for hiking in the mountains and forests and fields on marked and unmarked paths. A great starting point for day trips by car around Nærøysund municipality. Vikna is a large island kingdom with rich flora and fauna, and a large population of sea eagles. The beautiful coastal landscape out here provides great opportunities for hiking for the whole family. Visit the coastal town of Rørvik (43 km) and Norway's smallest town Kolvereid (22 km), with shops and restaurants. From here, boat trips go out to the old fishing village of Sør-Gjæslingan, a great experience.

visitnamdalen.com has a great description of "12 things you must experience in Nærøysund", including the idyllic shop and summer café at Jettestuen by Strandval Gård and Fiskeværet Nordøyan. If you really want to experience a place "where no one would think anyone could live", then you can also spend the night at the Nordøyan lighthouse. Island hopping by kayak, the taste of the coast from Gjerts Gourmet and those looking for cool photo stops and impressive viewpoints should head to Valøytind 135 m above sea level.

The river Opløelva: (50 km, by ferry) runs through the village of Salsbruket in Nærøysund municipality. In the lower part of the river, there is a significant influx of salmon.
