Tucked away at the end of a quiet gravel lane, just a short stroll from the charming seaside village of Øster Hurup, this holiday home feels like a place made for togetherness. The first thing you’ll notice is the sense of space – bright rooms opening to a terrace where the sea breeze drifts in, the laughter of children carrying across the garden. Mornings begin slowly here, with coffee at the long dining table and sunlight filtering through the windows, while plans for the day unfold: perhaps a swim, a bike ride to the harbor, or simply hours of relaxation at home.

The heart of the house is its pool area, where a shimmering 25 m² swimming pool invites both playful splashes and quiet laps against the counter-current system. After a swim, sink into the warm whirlpool and let time stretch. Two bathrooms with underfloor heating make getting ready a pleasure, and the thoughtful layout of four bedrooms offers comfort for families and friends alike – two doubles, a twin room, and a cheerful bunk room for the kids.

Right at the Kattegat you will find the old fishing port Øster Hurup. The town was originally a fishing port and a small but active shopping town. Today, especially the child-friendly beach attracts the many tourists. The shallow waters without strong currents and the warm temperature make the beach perfect for families with children.

If you are spending your holiday in Øster Hurup during July, you can experience the popular Øster Hurup summer concert. The concert has been a tradition for more than 20 years with good music, cold beer and cosy evenings in the warm summers. About Himmerland

Himmerland is bounded by the Limfiord to the north and west and by the Mariager Fiord to the south. This is why Himmerland can by characterized as a peninsula. In the northern part of Himmerland is Aalborg, the 4th biggest city with its abundance of attractions and cultural offers.

Himmerland is known for Rold Skov, the biggest forest in Denmark. The forest consists in a most varied landscape of heather-covered hills, various streams and beautiful forest lakes. The forest is a most exciting place and surely worth a visit. The landscape called Rebild Bakker (hills) is part of the forest and is probably the most well-known and popular area.

The landscape of Himmerland has been formed by the glacial age. Both Rebild Bakker (hills) and the Muldbjerge illustrate this in a perfect way. You can enjoy the most beautiful view from the Muldbjerge where the impressive morainic knolls rise right up in the air from the elsewhere very flat area. The highest point of Mulbjerge is 43 meters. From here you can see Kattegat to the east, and to the west you have a view to the reserve called Lille Vildmose. In Lille Vildmose the animal life is rich and interesting. There are golden eagles, wild boars, cranes, otters and many other animals.

Besides Aalborg there are various charming towns and villages in Himmerland, among others Hobro, Mariager and Hadsund situated along the Mariager Fiord. All of them have wonderful views of the fiord.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and directions

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement containing all necessary information. On the first page you will find information about the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a directions on how to find the house. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due dates.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key as well as an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses (electricity, heating, water, etc.) are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences.

Arrival outside opening hours

If you can not reach your destination until eg. late evening, our local offices will be closed. Therefore please contact us in time to make arrangements with regards to the key and the deposit. Extras

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils, duvets and pillows necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can be rented at the local office or online, if you prefer not to bring these items yourselves.

When you book a baby cot, please note that we can not guarantee space for the cot in the master bedroom. If the house description say there is a cot in the house and you only need one, booking is unnecessary.

You can also book delivery of the extras you rent. This way you do not need to drive several times between the holiday home and local office.

Please note that in high season, extras might be sold out. Therefore we recommend you to always book extras and final cleaning when booking your holiday home.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.
