Starup Hytteby is located between Starup-Tofterup and Holme Å in nature of great scenic beauty. The Hytteby (cottage village) was established in 1990 when some passionate people got the idea to create a cottage village, and today this has developed into an extremely well-functioning and attractive area. In the cottage village they have a house (80 m2) in common, built in 2008, with free internet access, a fish cleaning place and a shared freezer (60-99 l) for the storing of the fish.

Holme Å is very popular with anglers because of the many possibilities to go fishing, but you may also go canoeing on the stream. In the area there is also a wood and a field with sheep, and if you would care for a swim, you can go to Kvie Sø (approx. 13 km).

The cottage village is centrally located and as such a perfect starting point for many tourist attractions in the southern and central part of Jutland. Legoland, Givskud Zoo and one of the biggest cities in Denmark, Esbjerg, are only a 30 minute drive away. In Esbjerg you will find an art museum, a concert hall and fine shopping possibilities. Ribe with its beautiful cathedral and the Viking centre is not far away from the cottage village (a 45 minute drive).
