This is the rural landscape that is so characteristic of Denmark´s fourth largest island, Lolland. That´s why this flat island has been nicknamed "The Pancake", especially In the western part of the island where the flat terrain and fields stretch as far as the eye can see. In addition to the flat landscape, you´ll also find many small inlets dotted along the coast on Lolland, as well as large lakes and woodlands. The southern part of Lolland is bordered by the South Lolland dike.

Lolland is surrounded by the Baltic Sea, the Langelands Belt, Guldborgsund, Fehmarn Belt and the waters of Småland and is connected to Falster in three places. If you rent a holiday home for your summer holiday on Lolland, you will have ferry connections to both Langeland and Germany.

Knuthenborg Safari Park

The island's biggest attraction and Northern Europe's largest safari park - Here, you can experience more than 1,000 exotic species of all sizes and weights! All the animals are separated into different areas, according to where they come from. Visit the animals in the monkey forest, the woodland plain, the zoo and the African savannah. Explore the tiger or wolf forest by car, and experience the wildlife up close in the safety of this enclosed area. The latest attraction is the dinosaur forest, where you can view both the excavations and an exhibition of fossils and skeletons, and come face-to-face with more than 20 lifelike, roaring dinosaurs. There is also a large play area in the park for children. Recently, a large water slide and a water playground were added to the play area.

Dodekalitten

In a field on Lolland, a monument to time consisting of twelve stone pillars placed in a circle featuring electroacoustic music has been built. Each of the twelve stone pillars is 7-9 m. tall and weighs between 25-45 tons. The tops feature carved faces, all facing the center. The combination of the huge stone pillars and the music creates a unique experience. Bird Song Art Museum. Discover a piece of Danish art history on a visit to the Bird Song Art Museum. The museum houses a fine collection of Danish art from the late 18th century until today and 2-3 special exhibitions are held annually. Here, you can find the works of artists such as the Skagen painters, Olaf Rude, Cobra, Vilhelm Lundstrøm, Kristian Zahrtmann and Jens Juel. The museum is situated in a scenic area that provides the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful walk on the property belonging to the Fuglsang Estate.

Take a trip back to the 19th century with a visit to The Open Air Museum in Maribo You will find the museum near Maribo´s scenic Southern Lake surrounded by the forest. Go off exploring in the old houses and immerse yourself in the day-to-day lives of

The Rødby Ferry to Puttgarden, Germany
