Henne Strand is a seaside area at the North Sea in the south-western part of Jutland. It is believed that Henne Strand was originally founded as a viking village.
The area in Henne Strand offers outstanding scenery of dunes, heathland and woodland. Besides the splendid scenery Henne Strand also offers restaurants, shopping and plenty of activities for both children and adults. Visit the charming square just before the entrance to the beach which is a centre for the whole family with restaurants, cafes, shops and a playground.
Henne Strand has one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. On the 16 km long, white sandy beach you can play, build sandcastles and take long walks along the water's edge and if you are lucky you might even find a piece of amber. There is plenty of room for splashing in the blue water, sunbathe in the dunes or fly kites. From late June to late August there are lifeguards on Henne Strand.
The surrounding nature has e.g. the Blåbjerg Plantage (plantation) with its 64-metres tall mountain which offers a spectacular view. Filsø, the 6th largest lake in Denmark in an area with lots of birdlife and Henne Mølleå (stream) which has its outlet in the North Sea. Popular tourist attractions like Legoland and Givskud Zoo are just an hour's drive from Henne Strand but there are also plenty of opportunities close by, e.g. horseback riding, golf, Put and Take fishing, viking village, water park and much more.
