About the holiday home
About RønneBornholm and the small islands called Ertholmene are the easternmost islands of Denmark. You will find Bornholm in the middle of the Baltic Sea, and this is the only part of Skåne (southern Sweden) left on Danish hands. Thanks to its location Bornholm is a very sunny island with a clear and special light that attracts many artists.
You often hear that Bornholm and its nature reflects all of Denmark as it is hilly and green with rich plough-land and a huge forest. Bornholm is also the only place in Denmark where you will find dramatic cliffs, and on the southern coast there is a large, white sandy beach.
The bedrock lies very close to ground surface, and especially in the northern part of the island there are dramatic groups of cliffs along the coast, like for instance Løvehovederne and Jons Kapel between Hammerknuden and Hasle and the tall Helligdomsklipper rising from the sea (up to 22 metres) between Tejn and Gudhjem.
Hammerknuden is located in the northernmost part of Bornholm consisting in one big group of rocks descending sheer to the sea. On top you will find the huge Hammershus Slotruin (castle ruins) and south of this the biggest lake of Bornholm called Hammersø. They quarried granite at Hammeren until the nineteenseventies but today the quarries have been closed, and the area has been transformed into a nature area with two artificial lakes – Opalsøen and Krystalsøen.
Along the coast and in the middle of the island there are small and big rift valleys, and the open grottoes, the socalled ovens, are found near Jons Kapel and Helligdomsklipperne among other places.
Almindingen is one the largest forests in Denmark, and here you will find the biggest rift valley called Ekkodalen (Echo Valley) and the highest point of the island called Rytterknægten (162 metres). Paradisbakkerne (Paradise hills) are a unique forest with moors and a lot of rift valleys in the hilly, rocky landscape.
Dueodde Strand is in the southern part of Bornholm – this is the biggest sandy beach of the island with sand of a so fine quality that it was used for hour glasses in the old days. There is also a lot of rather small beaches in Bornholm – and from many of them you can go swimming directly from the cliffs.

Rental agreement and route description
Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement containing all necessary information. On the first page you will find information about the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have during your holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due dates.
On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key as well as an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses (electricity, heating, gas, water and telephone) are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.
Time of arrival
Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences.
Arrival outside opening hours
If you can not reach your destination until eg. late evening, our local offices will be closed. Therefore please contact us in time to make arrangements with regards to the key and the deposit.
On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement miscellaneous extras can be ordered from the local office. This can save you unnecessary packing, leaving space for other things, which you would rather not do without during your holiday.
All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can be rented at the local office, if you prefer not to bring these items yourselves.
If you have small children and need a cot, high chair or similar you can rent such items at the local office too. NB There is not necessarily room for a cot in the master bedroom. If a cot is listed in the description of the house and you need only one cot, a cot need not be ticked on the post card.
There is also the option of getting all items ordered delivered to your holiday home. This saves you from having to make repeated trips between the house and the local office.
Please note that not all local offices can offer all extras. Therefore we recommend to contact the local DanCenter office either by phone or email before arrival. We cannot guarantee that extras, which were not pre-ordered, still will be available for rental on arrival.
On the at the bottom of the rental agreement detachable post card you can also order the end cleaning.
